These are some of the quotes that I really like. Two or three of these were composed by me.
- "A strong man stands up for himself. A stronger man stands up for others."
- "Everything in life is possible. Impossibility is a barrier that you place between you and possibility."
- "Life is not unfair. Another person may have talents that you don't have but you also have talents that he/she doesn't have. Life is all about perspectives."
...
- "Things we lose have a way of coming back to us.. Not just in a way we expected.."
- "All the answers to our prayers are already here on earth. It's just a matter of looking for it and making it work."
- I'm not drunk! I am by nature a loud, friendly, clumsy person...
- Drink, Refill, Repeat...

Lessons from a Storm
The storm has passed. Cries of suffering were heard all over Metro Manila. Houses were destroyed. Lives have been lost. Dreams have been quelled. With just one sweep of flood waters, almost everything has changed. Homes we used to go home as a respite after a busy day became mere shadows of their previous selves. The muddied floor, damaged furniture, and smudgy ceiling reflect how much we suffered that fateful weekend. It’s quite surprising how turn of events can be so fast. Life is indeed a wheel. It has its ups and downs. It’s a matter of cherishing the moments when we’re on top and learning from the experience when we’re down. It’s moving on and never looking back on experiences that break our heart.
Some people say the present is what is important. For me, it will always be the future. Past experiences are always a keeper. We should learn from it. Present experiences are always a challenge. We have to take our chances. The future? It will always be a mystery. If it doesn’t go our way, we can leave it in the past and look forward to the future. The future holds a lot of promises. This is why I like the concept of a future. For me, it is a second shot at life. A second chance to do what is right.
To us who were witnesses on what happened last weekend, we have our second chance. We all know what is right so we should do what is right. Let us learn from the experience because we all know that we are also the ones to blame on the floods that ravaged the city. Let us help each other build a future where progress and preservation can co-exist.

Finally Bitten by the Blog Bug
The world of blogging has caught my curiosity. People say that blogging is a form of self-expression. It’s like therapy because it makes people feel better. They put into writing their unexpressed feelings. It’s like a diary minus the secrets. Girl stuff!!! Maybe this is the reason I wasn’t bitten by the blog bug long before. I thought this writing stuff is for girls and for the weak-hearted.
Back in college, I thought that this activity is just pure nonsense. It’s a waste of my precious time. I can’t blame myself for thinking like this. It was college. There are a lot of more interesting things to be done like hanging out, drinking booze, going out on dates, playing football, and many more. I don’t like to see myself sitting down, facing the computer, and writing those blogs. Geek stuff!!! Maybe this is the reason I wasn’t bitten by the blog bug back in college. I thought this writing stuff is for light saber-wielding and elf-speaking mortals.
After college, I had a 3-month hiatus at home. It was a time in my life in which my productivity rating was zero. I did watch some fun shows on TV and Facebook-ed the rest of the day. I didn’t really think of blogging or writing. Compositions are things of the past. What happens in college, stays in college. Then, I got a job. I spent the night working and the day sleeping. Writing? Bummers!!! Maybe this is the reason I wasn’t bitten by the blog bug at work. I thought this writing stuff is for people who can’t find jobs so they spend their time writing their unexpressed frustrations.
I realized that I was wrong.
I am after all a weak-hearted, light saber-wielding bummer.
